David has built and led commercial functions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for over 40 years and has been directly involved in bringing to market many bio-pharmaceutical innovations and driving business agility. His career includes leadership positions in marketing, sales, business development and commercial operations functions in Canada, in the US and globally.
Most recently, David was Vice President and Global Head of Commercial Services for Roche and Genentech. Prior to joining Genentech in 2005 as Head, Commercial Strategy, where he spent 8 years, he delivered results for 24 years across many brand and cross-commercial US, Canada and Global functions at Merck & Co. Inc.
He brings broad, deep and hands-on, strategic and functional experience in the design, implementation and management of efficient and effective commercial organizations and solutions.
Conceptual thinker and change manager. Team builder and player with a hands-on approach. Close knowledge of complex external, regulatory and public health environments.
David holds a BSc in Physiology and an MBA , both from McGill University in Montreal Canada. Born and grew up in Quito, Ecuador. Lives in San Francisco, CA.
